  • Giving child care providers valuable tools for improving their programs
  • Establishing uniform standards of excellence in early care

WHO is Eligible?

The program is voluntary and open to licensed , privately funded childcare centers, family childcare programs, or family, friend, and neighbor care serving children ages 0-5 who are from low-income families, non-English speakers, and/or have special needs. Raising Quality! provides many opportunities for programs to develop, including materials and supplies to support quality improvement activities, and training and technical assistance.

Raising Quality! IMPACT 2020
Expanded Family, Friend and Neighbor Initiative

Does your agency excel at honoring the wisdom and value grandparents bring to the community?  Is your agency a trusted messenger that the community relies on for information and service? Does your agency have the capacity to reach populations with culturally and linguistically appropriate services? Is your agency able to reach communities outside of Stockton? If your agency answered YES to the questions above, then First 5 San Joaquin and Raising Quality! invites you to respond to the Request for Qualifications (RFQ) for the Raising Quality! IMPACT 2020 Expanded Family, Friend and Neighbor (FFN) Initiative.

This initiative will focus on enhancing early care services provided by grandparents in areas outside Stockton.  First 5 San Joaquin acknowledges the important roles that grandparents play in a child’s life – caregiver, mentor and teacher.  The Raising Quality! IMPACT 2020 FFN Initiative seeks to pair grandparents caring for children (ages 0 to 5) with a community-based organization to provide guidance, coaching and access to a variety of health and social services in order to enhance their caregiving skills and help ensure that the children in their care have a save and nurturing environment that allows them to thrive and grow.
